Email Addresses need for VSSA
Legislative Alert List
The 2008 Session of the
General Assembly convened on January 9th and as expected, it has
been a very active session as in previous years. With the change in leadership in the State
Senate, anti-gun legislators now control the committees that hear gun related
legislation. Also as expected, the gun
banners have constantly used last year’s tragedy at Virginia Tech to push their
anti-gun schemes. To counter this
anti-gun offensive, VSSA is utilizing our members for extensive grassroots
lobbying when the need arises but we can only do that if we can contact you at
a moment’s notice. The easiest way to
accomplish this is by email. It is important that every VSSA member
that has an email address to contact us and provide us with the email address
so we can include you in our legislative alerts.
We will never sell your email address nor will we give it to any other
organization. Also, we will only contact
you when your legislators need to hear your voice. We do not send out weekly updates because we
maintain a legislative tracking form on the VSSA web site so you can easily
track legislative activity.
All you need to do to be
included in the VSSA Legislative Alert database is click here to send an email to
VSSA and request to be added to our email alert list. In the body of the email, be sure to let us
know the county or city where you live.
This will assist us in sending target emails as issues arise in your
