Rockbridge County Planning Commission Tables Proposed Shooting and Hunting Restrictions

The Rockbridge County Planning Commission met on February 14^th. After some discussion and an outpouring of opposition as evidenced by the large number of gun owners who attended the meeting, the Planning Commission tabled the proposed restrictions on shooting and hunting within the county. This victory would not have been possible had an alert gun owner not made VSSA aware that the Planning Commission was considering some draconian restrictions. Like Louisa County in 2006, and Culpeper County in 2005, alert gun owners were following what county officials were proposing and made VSSA aware of the proposals. VSSA immediately sent out an alert to the email list and worked with NRA to see that an alert was sent to the larger gun owning community in Virginia.

Gun owners are urged to access the web site of their county or city government and sign up to receive email notices of the Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, or City County so you can stay informed of proposals that affect gun owners. If you learn of proposals that will negatively impact your rights, be sure to forward the information to Raymond Cahen at the above email address and VSSA will activate our grassroots network.
