House Bill 2653, sponsored by Delegate Lingamfelter (R-31), prohibits gun dealer entrapment schemes, such as those orchestrated by NYC Mayor Bloomberg;

House Bill 2106, sponsored by State Delegate Charles Carrico (R-5), makes it clear that no locality may require fingerprints for the renewal of Right-to-Carry permits;

House Bill 2308, also sponsored by State Delegate Scott Lingamfelter, provides that counties may adopt model hunting regulations as provided by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF); and

House Bill 2547, also sponsored by Delegate Carrico, clarifies that localities may not regulate possession of firearms on public roadways, except for the purposes of hunting.

***Please note – Lifetime concealed handgun permits did not become effective this year.  The General Assembly did not provide the additional appropriation to the State Police as required by the 2006 legislation.  Concealed Handgun Permits continue to require renewal every five years, but renewals do not require fingerprinting.
